Street style does not mean wearing big chunky shoes. It’s about artists making an existing item their own. This video and accompanying blog article will show you how to style streetwear. This video and blog post will provide a quick introduction to the streetwear trend that is currently sweeping pop culture.
INTRODUCTION TO THE BRIEF VIDEO SERIES
My YouTube channel was created about a year ago. I wanted to share styling tips and techniques, as well explore other topics. My passion for the latter led me create a video series, where I have the opportunity to chat with experts in their respective areas. I want to learn everything about style, grooming, cocktails and more.
We’ll all learn together about these topics. This is my first video series in which we will go in-depth on street fashion. Since the creation of my YouTube channel, this video has been on my mind for a while.
STREET STYLE BASICS WITH MAM COUTURE
Rashad, owner MAM (Make A Mill Couture Boutique), a local shop that sells streetwear in Denver, CO was my friend. We were able to create this streetwear video together.
His shop sells his own label MAM Couture and other brands supporting his vision of streetwear.
THE RULES OF STREET STYLE
The video below discusses street style. We also discuss the rules for street style.
We also discussed the styling of two street style looks. Rashad put me in my favorite look that was impossible for me to find on my terms.
Street style has been a huge influence on my style. It was amazing to learn more about it from someone who is actually living it. I now feel more confident to build on it and incorporate into my style.
STREET STYLE BASICS
As you can see from my Instagram images, I have been using street style in my own outfits recently. The style is still something I am learning. Rashad and i started from the basics.
WHAT CAN STREET STYLE DO?
Rashad’s street style description is about a movement. It’s a movement made up of designers and artists who want to express their thoughts and inspire others through style. It’s a form of art that originated in garages, using “ready-made tools” to help artists achieve their artistic goals.
Streetwear isn’t just about urban style. It can also incorporate luxury and contemporary elements. Rashad describes his brand MAM(Make A Mil) to be comfortable and heavily influenced New York Luxury streets. He likes street silhouettes, but with a tailored fit.
It’s only one way to style streetstyle. MAM Couture Boutique offers just a small selection of all the things you need. Rashad brings together a diverse collection to make MAM Couture Boutique cohesive and reflective of his street style.
WHAT are the RULES FOR STREETWEAR?
Streetwear is free from rules. Streetwear isn’t like other styles, which may require you to understand the rules before you break any of them. Everything is fair game. You can make hoodies into button ups and wear them with sleeveless buttons, or mix and match them with suits.
